This the the essay after editing on my Da Gu~
The one i submitted!

For the past twenty-one years of my life, there has been this person in my life who has always supported and encouraged me -- my aunt.

Although my aunt is not highly educated, as far as I can remember, she was the one who first taught me the fundamentals of education. Regardless of how little she knew, she was always eager to play a part in developing my interest in the various subjects. The incident that has left a deep impression on me is her teaching of me Mathematics. When I was young, every night before I went to bed, she would recite the multiplication tables with me, making sure that I could do my math properly.

Even as I grew up, whenever I received low grades and was feeling down, I had a tendency to just keep quiet. Instead of scolding me like my parents would have done so, my aunt would bring me out for lunch and emphasized tirelessly the importance of education. She would reiterate how she wants me to do better because having a low level of education would mean closing windows of opportunities for my future. She never fails to remind me how she never got the chance to receive proper education and that I am fortunate to be able to have a good education. I grew up listening to her talk about the importance of education and it has spurred me to strive for a university degree to do my aunt proud, as well as to realize the potential she sees within me.

The next step for me now is to be able to further my studies at the Nanyang Technological University. Only then would I be able to fulfill the aspirations she has inspired me to have.
